The plastic portion of my ignition switch started out white, but it is from an Olds column. 20200815_171711.jpg

    OPGI stocks reproductions in white.

Todd stocks reproductions in black. Todd says he has seen originals in white, black, and even tan.

Then again, Todd is more of a 70-72 guy, so maybe 69 didn't vary like that.

Would black be correct for 69? I would rather buy from Todd...

That is a very weird colored switch, Gary. It's also weird that the 2 switches have different part #'s. Only a few months apart, same appearance, but different numbers. Maybe it was like how they made pot metal and "plastic du jour" or something.

I was just writing on another thread about parts and numbers, and what GM did back then. Later they just condensed everything. There is a certain satisfaction in having things exactly right, even if you can't see them openly. Many people like the hunt, too! Just ask Duane, or Gene, or Dave Johnson, or...you know what I'm talking about Gary, right?

I just figger if I am going to buy something it ought to be correct.

Show car? No. But it's the principle of the thing.
