I am trying to find a correct alternator for my car. I assumed it would be the 1100774 that is so sought after by everyone.

I have been going through David Walker's By The Numbers book, and I think what I should be looking for is the 1100691 alternator.

My car is a non a/c convertible. Not a Stage 1.

    Thanks for any help guys.

    Marc.

You should be looking for a 37 amp alternator.

If you find a numbers matching alternator and are not buying a parts store replacement, I recommend V8 member “stellar” if it needs to be rebuilt and/or restored.

Thanks Brian. I will reach out to him when I find one.
Yes, I am attempting to make my car as correct to original as possible.
Or should I say, as close as I can afford.

If those pictures are before and after, that is insane. Wow!
Thanks for the lead. My car is 5th week April 69. I am not in any rush. Will try find something a little closer to my build date.

Is there a rear window defoger on this car?

Was that an option on a convertible? But no it doesn't have one.

I am still looking. Just not lately. Kid leaving for college in September so that has dominated any free time I have.
Car got put on the back burner the last few months.

By the way my car is a 5th week April 69 build.

I sure blew that one. Next thing you know, I'll be falling off my bicycle. I was at a friends alternator shop today and saw a couple of 691 alts. I didn't get the dates, but if anyone is interested I can go back and look. Pretty sure he would be willing to sell them.

If you find a 37 amp within a month or two before my build date I am definitely interested.
    Thanks. Marc.

    Thats a tight window. Should I look for 9B 9C 9D?

Absolutely, and thank you. I would love to have one of your restored alternators in my car. The pictures I have seen are amazing.

I am trying my best to do a correct restoration. Car still has original motor and trans. I have been just stockpiling parts and having parts restored the last couple years.

Thank you again for your interest.
