Anyone know if there is a correct 4spd repro hump being made? The original floor opening in my car was trimmed for a different shifter back in the day.

    Tks!

There is no hump for a 70-72 GS. Just an oval hole in the side of the tunnel.

Yeah, I trimmed mine for the super shifter with the reverse lockout (I saw your other thread,I think) too. I still have the shifter. There's not really a hump like other cars.

There is an old hump thread somewhere unless it was lost.

    Old hump thread

Tks, I think the old thread was unfortunately lost- I tried searching for it first. There is a small plate, if not a hump, that is visible on my car and in the pic's posted of an original 4spd car tunnel.

    Tks,

    Eric

I wish I had the old thread pics of the original humps.

Anyway I have used a chevelle floor hump to do my conversions with excellent success, not perfect like originals but close and very functional.

    First Cut a big hole

Thanks for the tip Reg! The Chevelle plate looks close with a smaller opening.

    Tks again,

    Eric

Hmm? Are you using the 64-67 hump on a 70-72 body style?

Yep, the 64-67 hump (Chevelle as pictured) is a perfect contour fit.

Where did you order that hump from?
I looked at year one and the one they pictured looks nothing like that.

    Thanks

    Omg Thank You!

WOW...that OPGI site is like a gold mine. It has everything I needed. bit confusing on the tunnel hump selections but absolutely fantastic.

You know that original thread with the 4gear conversion on Greg Davis's GS seems to almost be the only illustrated conversion on the WEB for that year Body (A-Body 68-72). Glad I found it, this community is very helpful.

Thanks again for all the help.

    BTW

Greg Do you have a screen shot of the completed interior after it was put back together?

The site and catalog are great at OPGI, but wait until you order stuff: Sloooow responses to web orders, sloooow shipping, and really high shipping costs.

Oh, did I mention lots of stock outs?

Sort of a west coast Year One.

I avoid them like the plague......"Caveat Emptor" (buyer beware)
