I’m seriously having doubts if this engine is correct for my 72 GS 350. The engine code is supposed to be between spark 1 and 2. This one has the 73 code next to them. Can anyone confirm if this is a 72 Buick 350 engine?

If you can't find the engine code, look for the partial VIN.
Also check the casting number on the rear of the block, 12 o'clock where the bellhousing meets the transmission:

The two letter engine code is stamped into the deck. It is not easy to see as the area is frequently covered with oil/grease. You are looking for the letters WB.
