Can someone show me a picture of how the two piece shims - only for convertibles are to be mounted?? I see the two holes on the door and on the inside portion of the quarter panel, but can not figure out how they mount. Any help will be greatly appreciated. What is the purpose for the shims??

    Best regards,
    Chris

The chrome part goes on the door with the curved edge toward the interior of the car. The other brass-like piece goes on the door jamb with the rounded edge toward the outside of the car. The shims are there because a 'vert body flexes more than a body with a roof. They add rigidity to the body and keep things tight. Sometimes shims are used under the jamb piece, I think you can buy them repro.
