Anybody know where I can get one? Preferably locally.
    Thanks

Locally I would say no, but Dave Kleiner has them. From the parts book, it looks like the bushing didnt come seperately from the clevis.

let me know if you need his info. I just ordered a new pushrod and fork for my car.

If it is the one I am thinking of it is the same as an old Vette.

Actually yes you can get them from your local chevy dealer. It is the same as a corvette suspension bushing. Mike Garrison listed the part number in a thread here a while back. I can get mine out of the car and get the number tomorrow as I haven't installed it yet.

Are we talking about the same bushing? I thought the one that is the same as the Vettes is the Z bar bushing? Or does the clevis use the same one?

I believe the bushing will fit both locations. It appears to be the same bushing when I compared it to both the z-bar and the adjuster rod.

  10. Or go to NAPA and get a spherical rod end from thier tractor catalog (PN 732-1129 I believe).

    It's 3/8 fine thread female.

Then get an exhaust manifold stud that's 3/8 fine to coarse thread and adjust into the spherical rod end.

It's a lot stronger than the bushing style. I wore out the Kleiner repop one in about a month.

Much better solution, better pedal feel as well. Thats pretty much how I did it, except I ended up getting a 5" length fine thread grade 8 bolt, cutting the head off and threading the shaft in 3/8 course. Never thought about manifold studs. that makes it almost to easy. :Dou: :TU:

    Paul,
Great tip! Marketable difference in pedal feel, easier to adjust and alot stronger.
Actual part number is 732-1129 and the stud is ST-43.
    Thanks again
    Matt

  16. Not a problem. Mike Prybell actually owns the idea. He did it back in 04 and put a pic on the board. I went off of his idea and tweaked it.

    Thanks all, but...

I don't think I invented the idea alone because back when we were all scratching our heads a few of us came out with the same design more or less by coincidence.

In any event, swapping over to this design improves pedal feel, increases adjustability and eliminates the big weakness in the design, which is the crappy rubber bushing.

    Mike P,
It mentioned above that you may have had a picture of the assembly. If so, would you mind re-posting it here? There are several of us that are interested in the design.

    Thanks, Mike
