I am looking for recommendations on which clutch to use with my new 470 build. It will be using stock leakage and will be be used mostly on the street. Looking for something with a close to stock pedal but with good holding power for about about 550 hp.

    Thanks for the help.

I'm switching over to a Ram Dual disc now on my pops car, I've used Ram on several different setups both Big Block Buick and LS based with no complaints

McLeod makes the best stuff but it is pricy. The last Zoom brand that I used required a strong left leg. I have not used a Ram in along time so my information is too dated to be worth anything. I usually go for Centerforce Dual friction.

I use a center force dual friction in the green car. No issues with clutch performance thus far.

How is the pedal on the Center Force?

Softest that I have experienced. If you have never used one, you will think that something may be wrong.

I am just experienced with the "Dual Friction" model. We use that model in our GSX. I have also used this model in an Olds 442.

Is the Center Force Dual Friction models a direct fit with no mods needed?

The adjustable pivot ball that Lakewood makes for about $30?

Ive used the Centerforce Dual-Friction for 10+ years in my GS with a 520 hp/550 tq 470 and have had no issues with it. Good pedal feel and not too stiff.
Although, I did take it to the Woodward dream cruise a few years back and had a pretty achy left leg after 2+ hours of stop and go traffic!

CenterForce II if it is a street car.

Soft pedal and grips very well.

It will be a street car. In talking with CenterForce, both the dual friction and the CF II will handle the power. They did not give much info on the pedal feel.

I have a Zoom in my car now for a couple years and one drag week with zero issues. I don't find the clutch pedal any stiffer than the centerforce I had previously. The pressure plate on the centerforce siezed up on me after 1.5 years and ~20,000 miles. I suspected those loose weights on the diaphram spring started wedging in because I couldn't find any obvious issues with it when I removed it.
