I'm going to be buying a new clutch and pressure plate for a street/strip GS. I'm wondering which setup to buy?

My car should be running 12:80's when it's together again.

My last setup was the Hays diaphram pressure plate, which worked... OK, but would seem to slip more than the stock one the car came with. I have forgotten which clutch I bought, it's been so long ago, but I will say this, I don't mind a stiffer pedal if it means getting the thing to grab.

    Any opinions out there?

The Hays diaphram street/strip clutch is actually made my a company called "Valeo". Valeo makes stock clutch components for all makes and model cars. I have my suspicions that the Hays unit is just a re-boxed stock clutch. Worked well in my W-30 years ago. I would stay away from the Borg and Beck three finger style unless you want to develop an abnormally muscular left leg. Way too hard on linkage too. I agree with Jim, the Centerforce might be the way to go. Best of both worlds.

Centerforce Dual Friction! I love mine in my GSX. Light pedal pressure and no-slip operation has me sold on them... :TU:

Gee Dan....can you tell us how you really feel? lol

I guess that about sums it up! Not too much you can say about Hays after that.
