I want to do a 4 speed swap in my 71 skylark. My question is can I just buy a clutch and brake pedal and use my auto pedal assembly plate, just pull the brake pedal and install new pedals, or do I need to get a different pedel assembly plate.

You need the correct z bar and pedal assembly for your engine.

If you are asking about using your pedal mount under the dash which is attached to the firewall and the pedals hang from, yes you can. Be sure your new clutch and brake pedal come with the mounting stud and sleave since its longer than the auto setup.

Yes that's what I was asking about the pedal mount. Thanks for your reply. I'm going with hydraulic clutch so I don't need the z bar.

Are you also going to convert to hydraulic throwout bearing?
