While checking my engine oil I noticed that there is not to much clearance in between my stock sheet metal valve cover to the brake booster.

How much taler is the aluminum cover from TA?
Does my engine sits to high on the engine mounts?

That looks very normal. I have TA covers on one of my 70’s and they are a little closer to the booster, but clear. I have since removed the booster,as I prefer manual brakes. It stops much better now too,and no concern for clearance issues.

I have the Poston covers on my engine and they clear just fine. They are taller covers for my roller rockers.

Sorry to butt in Larry but it looks like flats on the ends of the valve covers helps a bit or would it still clear if they were made without them?

TA covers clear fine,...Poston clear better due to the design but both will clear

Now the KB covers are very close and sometimes will rub

The Postons have angles on the ends to help clear the booster and AC box. The KB’s are very close to the booster and will slightly rub on the AC box.

I'm sure it helps. Have to get a closer picture next time I have the hood up.

Are the Poston valve covers still available, and if so where?

Thanks Larry, I assume, that the covers come w/o holes for breather and filler cap. What filler cap do you use? Is that just a plug, or did you machine the slots for a bayonet mount into the cover?

Just push in. Right now, I have 2 breathers. I just used a hole saw (1.25" I think). I glued the grommets into the cover. The breathers push into, the cover and stay put. Easy to remove as well to add oil.
