Max Damage I'm working on it!

I wonder what the dip is that could eat the spring steel in those rods? That seems crazy.

I think he said it's acid, but I wonder what kind? I guess we shall see how your trunk works afterwards?

Brian was there tension on the springs when they dipped your car?

I do know the trunk lid was removed but the rods remained attached to the hinges. So I guess there was some tension but not full tension.

So what is done after dipping to help with moisture in the air, will it not flash rust?

Nice, I was also wondering if they had a "dip" tank as well as a strip tank.

Imagine dipping the beater? You'd get an e coated windshield frame back

Plus a decent cowl that would require scuba gear to recover.

Nice. That's the way to do it. Can you post the name(s) of the places that did the dipping & e-coat?

    Redi-strip does both of them..

Where? We used to have a redi-strip in PA but no longer. I searched a few years back and there was one in Indianapolis IIRC.

There was one in Detroit but looks like it closed. Maybe contact them and they could give you the closest location.

Thanks Nelson! I was super pleased w/the work Redi-strip did for me many years ago.

I don't see where they do the e-coat. Maybe @3shields can elaborate on the shops that did his work (presumably for Nick).

Detroit by airport is "international Paint Stripper" Used them many times, blocks, heads, alot of sheet metal. They leave it bare or e-coat up to you. without e-coat you will get some rusting but they do spray them down with something to help for a short time.
