Check Out My Buddy's 180 Degree Headers!

I couldn't help sharing pictures of the 180 degree headers that my friend/co-worker is building for his 1970 Challenger. He is a great welder and did these all by eye! They are stainless works of art:









I will try and post a video or sound clip once the car is running! He is going for the straight plane crank sound. He's going to merge it all into a single 3" or 3.5" exhaust.

I'll have to ask him if he plans on adding extra insulation around the oil pan. As far as I know this is just a street car.

 

First time I have ever heard of, or seen of such a thing.. and I can't take my eyes off it. Cheers to your buddy for a job well done.

 

The way he welds, I'd have him build you a sleek, stainless custom turbo manifold.

Cool factor +10 but looks a bit restrictive

 

I hadn't heard of these before, I'd be curious to see the before and after torque curve compared to "normal" headers.

He'd better triple check all his torque converter bolts before buttoning that thing up!!!!
