I have inherited a graduated burette, stand and drip plate. A buddy just had a set of 1973 Stage 1 heads refurbed. They required an 0.015" resurface to get them flat.

We thought that would be the perfect opportunity to see if we could do figure out how to CC his heads.

His heads turned out to be 69.5cc. On an otherwise stock 73 motor, it looks like it was worth about .1 points of compression.

What is the likelihood we can use 0.020 steel head gaskets on a 1973 engine with 1973 heads? Are they available and are they worth it for .2 points of compression.
