    Well guys.....does it?

I've been offered a Carter AFB, 500cfm apparently, would I be right in thinking it's basically the same unit as the 1404 performer and ideal to fit a 215?

PS. a photo of one would be good...:):beer

Pretty darn close if you ask me.
I believe that Edelbrock may have modified the design a little, but they are basically the same thing as they have been for decades.

I remember when Federal Mogul owned Carter. Edelbrock bought the rights (?) to manufacture the carbs, I believe in the late 1980's. Holley was pissed: as at that time they had no real competition except from small guys like Predator and Carter. The thing was that not many people were buying Carter, or even knew that they were still in business.

If it's a good deal, then I'd go for it!
