My 1965 Buick Skylark Convertible has this carb on a 300 4bbl engine. I need a rebuild kit as I think its running too rich. Where is the best place for a rebuild kit?
Should I consider replacing it with a more modern carb? What is suggested?
Is there a direct replacement or will I need a new intake manifold?

That's a one year only carb, I would keep it original. Rockauto has 3 options: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...1319352,fuel+&+air,carburetor+repair+kit,5964 There are also carb shops that will return it to better than new condition for under $200. These shops completely disassemble the carb, re bush the throttle shafts, replate all the linkage parts and replace any worn parts. American Carburetor is one of them, they are Florida based. There's another one who goea the the Sumter Swap meet every week, I can't think their name but I have their card in my rolodex at my shop.

you already have THE 4bbl intake for that motor ( should be a cast iron intake for 65 - just like carb , one year ) unless you think you wanna spend $$$$ for a custom intake .
small edelbrock 4bbl might bolt right on but if the oem carb is rebuildable they work fine .
the 300's are a nice little motor . dual exhaust , good tune up and make sure your brakes and suspension are in good shape and you got yourself a nice little runner .
