Looking for feedback on Cars Inc. (www.oldbuickparts.com) I'm getting ready to place an order for some stuff and figured I'd get some feedback on the quality/price/service before hand. Anyone who's done business with them in the past let us know what you think.
I think you will get varying replies to your question. I have never had any problems with them and have used them quite a bit, but there are several threads on this board about bad experiences other folks have had. Did that muddy it up enough for you? LOL.
I've ordered quite a bit from them and have had no problem. Delivery is a bit slow, but that's my only gripe. o No:
No problems here either, ive used them for years.Just make sure on the part # if you look it up yourself.:beer
But be careful, they still sell stuff for Buicks, that are generic GM, aka Chevy parts, like the brake pedal pad for a '70 pwr brake. But I think eventually, that will be the norm and be ok because that's all that's available, and the judges will think it's ok, cause that's what is sold as NOS! and it's not just CARs but OPGI, Year One, and it's been asked on here for feedback on correct parts, but you all just don't have a clue to help get Buick stuff right, cause you don't respond to the questions, so use them chevy parts. (And I use incorrect English, cause that's what you understand, I'll correct your spelling test for you too!) Like this one! And this one!
I have ordered tons of stuff from from NOS diecast to repro parts, and have returned zero items. It would very much be to your advantage to know exactly what parts you specifically need, though, (parts books and repair manuals are invaluable) therefore if they have any questions you have the answers. Also, don't be offended if the salesperson is not the most talkative. Sometimes they get right to the point.
:bla: So the salesperson, says yes, the brake pedal pad is correct for a '70 GS and when you get it, it's the same damn thing that everyone sells, as "correct" and it is for a CHEVELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sent it back!!!!!!!! http://www.carsinc.com/classic-chevy-part/4260.html Of course they (Cars inc)don't show it on their online catalog, or the print catalog, but it's just like the chevy part and twice as much. Buyer beware, I wish i'd stuck with Corvette sometimes, as they are more legit with their parts.:ball:
So just stay in the car with your foot on the brake during judgingp Tell us how you really feel Roberta:laugh: :beer
Nope it's got the right stuff, so I don't have to do that, and more likely the car WON'T get judged, cause i hate car shows, but you never know, might just do it to p*** some people off!:3gears:
All you have to do is type CARS into the search function to get plenty of existing info. I've purchased there once, never again.
Whats funny (to me) is my car is so not "factory" yet it's well done to the point of fooling non-buick people.... but the disc brake pad is what they seem to notice in the interior & say nice option for a '65! I kept the drums but have the padp I like walking away from my car at shows, standing close & listening to all the comments, that's fun in my book:TU:
I agree, Glenn is usually present @ the GS nationals and eastern BCA shows. I just purchased a lot of last little things for my Wildcat resto. The :beers2:
From my perspective, every Buick vendor I have ever dealt with except for one, has at one time or another sucked to deal with. They are all inconsistent. The only one I never had a problem with was T/A. I only bought a few things from them, but they return my emails promptly and helped me when I called, with no condescending attitude (which seems to be viral among vendors these days, they all know it all). No hassles. Isn't that really what it's all about? Customer Service? I told them that the spring in my oil pump may have been the wrong pressure. They had another color spring in the mail the next day free of charge and shipping. How the hell can I complain about that? Imagine CARS doing that? LOL Not.
I wish T/A sold everything. I know I'm a pain in the but with requests and haven't even bought stuff yet (this month I will) but they're always super nice. Sometimes though you need an obscure part and you have to go with who has it. I'm sick of having original plastic interior pieces explode in my hand so it's time for repops. Until T/A gets into that field they aren't an option
