Carb Options for a 63 401

    Ok, so whats a good size carb for a all stock 63 401 nailhead

    750cfm.. Most suggest a good q-jet.. I've been happy with my 750, manual choke Edelbrock..

    Other places told me 750 is too much carb for stock engine

    No, Nailheads like big carbs and being yours is stock a 750 is just fine..

    750 from a Quadrjet is not to big. This is basically stock. Original carburetor is a Carter AFB 7023142. Read up on them there pretty good carbs. These are good carbs when rebuilt and tuned correctly. I know where there's one at all rebuilt and comes with a Intake.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

    I had a 750 Edelbrock on mine. It loved it, ran great. Hooking up the switch pitch lever takes a little doing but is fairly straight forward.
