I have an AFB Competition Series carb and it wont keep my truck running anymore. It'll only start with starting fluid and while holding the gas alil bit but the moment I let off the gas it'll sputter and die. It has a new fuel pump and filter. Oh and its on my 85 Suburban if that matters, I know its not a buick but its my tow truck
Did the problem start right after you installed the new parts, or were the new parts meant to solve your fuel problem? P.S. I hate duplicate threads...you might get the right answer in one while people are busting to get you answers in the other, thus wasting time. Devon
It was running decent until I took it off to replace the intake manifold gasket, and while it was off i cleaned it alil bit and put it back on. Then thats when it started messing up so i replaced the pump and filter thinking that was it, but it wasnt.
Let's get that figured out! The fuel delivery issue may be with the tank or the sender, or the plumbing. Devon
well i replaced the fuel filter and its started up without a missing a beat and kept running but it didnt seem to drop the idle when it was supposed to so it started to overheat again :af:
