20230430_121226.jpg 20230430_121314.jpg I have a nipple on my factory air cleaner with no hose attached. I also have 3 ports on the front of the carburetor that are blocked off. Do any of the hose connections have anything to do with the operation of the secondaries?Attached are 2 photos showing what I am talking about. Any help would be appreciated.

Is your vacuum diagram still readable under the hood?

This is the only sticker I find under the hood. 20230430_130043.jpg

I found another blocked port on the rear of the carb. 20230430_131857.jpg

The nipple on the Air Cleaner goes to your charcoal canister. The others depends on what year somewhat.

One in the rear goes to your vacuum reservoir (if you want to use your heater, vents, or AC). Most of the rest in front go to the thermal vacuum switch or the TCS solenoid. Looks more like a 71 carb than a 72 carb since it has a big hose coming from the base plate in front (that went to the charcoal canister). Here is the hose diagram for a 71. Most of these hoses are for emission control and don't affect the secondaries. You should have 2 small, short hoses going to the primary and secondary choke pull-offs (things that look like little flying saucers).

None of that has anything to do with the secondaries of a Q-jet.

Vacuum cap on the TCS solenoid in the second picture looks cracked. Might be leaking.

i believe thats a vent not an actual hose hook up...shouldnt be a cap on it anyway
