Here is a picture of a block number, I am told.

What details can be drawn from this?

Year, GS, 455, Stage 1, etc.?

Where is this location? On the front of the block? I'm not one of the numbers gurus here but isn't that just the numbers on the tail end of the VIN that tell the sequence of production? I'm not sure you can tell much from that. The 2 character code I think between #5 and 7 plugs will tell more of the story for most years.

That is only part of the number.

I just matched the six digit VIN production number to this exactly...

    VIN: 4G37V2G110024

See my post above yours, believe it showed another puzzle piece.

I didn't take the pic, just posted what I had.

    Thank you...

    Chris,

I remember that car from Bring a trailer. You seem to be concerned with originality and being correct. While it looks like a decent car, there is a lot of expensive things wrong with it that would take a lot to correct. The stripes are poorly done GSX imitations and would be the most expensive to fix. The grille is blacked out, the hood lip moulding needs to be redone correctly, the steering wheel, etc.

If you aren’t concerned about originality, it seems to be a decent numbers matching stage 1. It was a no sale in April at $38,500, and I believe that was all the money for that car and more..

Owner said it was a numbers matching 455 Stage 1, even though it had glaring mistakes. Just wanted to do my best and verify it.

Spoke with the owner this morning for a while. Yes, I was checking this out for a friend (maybe myself if he balks). A real numbers matching 455 Stage 1 that hasn't been "frame off resto'd", just driven hard.

Previous owner made some odd decisions, but nothing that can't be corrected; the painted stripes will cost the most to fix. Yep, makes a purest puke. Glad I'm not one.

Aside from that, I think $35K cash from my hand to his just might take it. Inexpensive 455 Stage 1!
