I just resealed the top end on the 70 350 and there doesn't appear to be much room between the carb inlet and the 350 ram air bracket... before I order a new line, can someone please post a picture or two of how the line routes from the top of the engine? Thanks!

Be careful if you're ordering from Inline Tube. The one I got a few weeks ago was 3" too long at the carb. Apparently they don't account for the fuel filter.

I just put a new line on mine. I had the same problem as you and had a problem trying to bend the line to fit. I decided to start at the pump. When I got up top again I found the line slipped easily in to the filter. The line fit around the pump flange but I bent it out just a bit more as a precaution. I was not able to use the line mounting clamp to the water pump. It was nowhere close.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

The only fitting/clamp on my 1968 goes to the front of the intake manifold? There is no clamp to the water pump. Not sure about the 1970 differences. Mine looks like Andy's above, but rustier.

These photos of my 1972 Skylark 350 engine compartment should help:
