One advantage of electric is when cruising they can be shut off ....quieter and better mpg. Also motor warms up quicker due to fan off.

I use a Mr Gasket 18in puller mounted in the fan shroud area. Works fine and you don't see it.

I did finish my install yesterday morning. The car is finally getting it's headliner so I don't have access to it for a couple of days. I ended up running a relay near the battery to only operate the fan when the key is on. So far, I'm not in love with the BMW relay that is supposed to kick leg one on at 80 C* (176 F*) and the 2nd leg on at 88 C* (190 F*). I do have the fan kicking on at 190* so I wonder if I've got a bad sensor or a bad wiring architect (most likely issue?). I'll keep working with it to find out what is up. 176* should be ideal for the first fan and the 2nd fan kicking on at 190* should keep the gal cool in most situations?

I've gone through a few sensors that were supposedly xxx° to xxx° range, but they turned on and off way outside of the range spec.

Fits within the stock shroud. I did make the brackets…use relays for each btw!

That seems to be what I'm experiencing. More testing to come. I think I get my car back tomorrow from the upholsterer (headliner) and can test a bit when I get back from GS Nats. In the meantime I'm looking for different sensors that might work betterer

..and speaking of sensors for a two fan setup, what's your plan there?

the sensor is my finger. When it runs to cool…and it will, I just turn them off. Lol I have them on two separate switches, with relays in between. I don’t run a thermostat, and times when I run both it cools too much. So that way I can build heat buy just running one fan. Oh, it’s been in the car already for a couple seasons. Just have everything apart for the TA aluminum block.
I stress, run relays. Otherwise when your engine runs at a lower rpm (more like when your alternator runs at a lower rpm) the fan/s will run slower.

I have the Taurus fan setup with BMW double sensor setup. Haven't been scorching hot here, but idling with 68F goes very well. Only uses the first speed, then cools down so much that the fan can stop turning.

I’m in the process of fitting this Flex-A-Lite fan setup. In the last photo I made a cardboard template to transfer to an aluminum panel I’ll fabricate for the upper mount. It moves up to 4600 cfm , though I have a variable speed controller so it shouldn’t run at full capacity all the time, ….. only when the temperature demands it.

This is the same setup I've been using with my air-conditioned 470 for over six years and I'm very happy with it.

Very nice, and Man, they sure came a long ways from the time I had put mine together. There was literally nothing like that years ago. And at the beginning, all the aftermarket had was single fans. Which I had tried, all it would do is overheat.

I had that on my GN,..it could barely keep it below 210 but I had a FM intercooler too so
