Read that linked thread. The right way to do it is with the TA Performance Oil pump shim kit. You want the minimum clearance so the pump spins free. 2 regular gaskets will be overkill.

You may have the longer hi-volume gears without the spacer?

Order TA's oil pump shim kit.
You can actually use the shims as the gasket as long as your surfaces are bur free, I have with no issues, finally I asked TA about this and they said " as long as it doesnt leak, sure"
Some of the paper gaskets are different thicknesses also, theres black, and tan, if you have more than one paper gasket, try different ones.
Are you measuring the gear end clearance also?
Im pretty sure the paper gaskets differ in thickness not by design, but due to the type of paper.
