The distributor below, number 1111440, was installed in a 1970 455 engine I recently purchased. The only reference I can find to this distributor number is for a '68-'69 327 Chevrolet engine.

Can anyone tell me from what Buick engine this distributor original came?

Lighting is poor, but it kinda looks like 1114440 to me. Your number 1111440 comes up as 68 Chevy 327 as well.
1114440 does not cross by my sources.
Enter the other codes with the date code section as well.

The part number is 1111440. The date code appears to be 8F27, though I am not absolutely certain I am reading those numbers correctly.

When removed from the engine is it the correct short length for a Buick?

Attached are additional photos with the distributor removed from the engine.

The engine was purchased as a core for rebuilding, so I am not concerned about using the distributor.

My question is only one spurred out curiosity because I can find no reference to a Buick distributor with that part number. I just thought someone here might have greater insight into its original application.

It's in Delco book for 68 Camaro, 327 2bbl manual trans.
