I have a forum question about something I see on my 1970 GS455 paperwork. In the attached photo it says that my car is a "G" code with reference to the A/C option. This G code means that I have both the I6 and I8 options......but the sheet does not mention what the I8 option was. Does anyone know what I8 was???

Where did you get your info from Sloan?

If so they might be referencing the wrong Wholesale Car Order Form revision for your car.

They did this on some of the 72 models until I gave them the correct 72 revision sheet.

The option codes changed thru the model years, that is why the Wholesale Car Order Forms changed.

If you post when your car was built and the revision number and date on the bottom of the sheet, then we can see if this is the right form for your car, and get you the info you are asking for.

Looking at the 1970 GSX order form shows that IG = I2 + I6 so my guess is that the sheet for the regular GS has a typo and should have also shown the same thing. Does your car have both C60 air conditioning and C57 Forced Confort-Flo Ventilation (extra blowers on each side of the cowl)?

I realize my post doesn't address obvious "G" code error on Order Form, but that may be a separate issue. If your info came from Sloan microfiche records, the data was entered manually. "G" looks a lot like "6"...your option may actually be "I6." Your sample Order Form was created after-the-fact, based on microfiche interpretation.

In my Sloan research, I've encountered records with "ACCESSORIES AND OPTIONS" codes that didn't match what was available. They were entered incorrectly, or misinterpreted...just sayin'...
