I have a friend in Gettysburg that found 16 buick rally wheels. Is there any market for having then widened and re sold?
There was a member on here doing exactly that with the A body wheels 5 X 4 3/4 bolt pattern. Its my understanding he could no longer get the 8 - 10" hoops. He was not doing the big car wheels.
Underdog used to refurb the rallye wheels by replacing the rim shells but he was unable to purchase anymore rim shells. He did good work.
Unless the wheels are aftermarket, are the wheels being measured correctly? If you measure across the wheel outer lip, then a 15" wheel can measure 16" because the raised side outer lip is about 1/2" on each side. The way to measure the rim for size (tire size) is to measure the flat portion at the inside base of that lip, i.e., the flat portion of the inside of the rim to 180 degrees across in the same point on the other side .... where the tire bead seats.
