This is a call out to all V8 members in this part of the world (Vancouver, BC). The Olds club is hosting the annual BOPC Picnic in Campbell Valley Regional Park in Langley on June 29 and we'd like to see as many Buicks there as possible.

The park is located only about 10min north of the border so if there are WA State guys that want to attend you are more than welcome.

As the local Buick guys are without a club, we'd like as many of you there so we can discuss some informal Buick only gatherings or cruises in the summer and beyond. As the picnic is drop in and cars are in and out all day, it would be great if we all could assemble at around 11am... just look for the big Electra:TU: weather permitting of course.

Respond to this thread if you're interested!

    Hello Doug and Buick gearheads,

Thanks for the blurb on the BOPC show on June 29th. Entrants can arrive as early as 9 a.m. in the park. Show entrance fee is $5.00 per vehicle(to cover the cost of the park rental). Please bring your own lunch and drink. This is a very informal affair, and there are no show trophies, but I'm sure you're likely to have that Buick squeaky-clean. If you have a project car, please bring it by. We all started somewhere, and we'd like to help in your successful restoration of your Buick, without the huge costs and aggravation associated in such a project. I'll bring my photo albums and Buick literature I've collected through the years, for anyone who's interested in a little history.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

    Nando.

TTT. This is just around the corner and is very casual, family friendly type gathering. Bring the car, the family and a picnic lunch. Very nice location on the grass. Hope to see some of the locals there!

If I show up in my Olds, will you let me park beside you since I am now without a Buick that is on the road?

What do you mean "if" you come? :beer I guess if you're going to park that beautiful 442 next to my Electra I'll have to spend some extra time buffing it! Besides, you're not "without" a buick, you just don't have one on hand!!

I was in North Van on Sunday for the Oldsmobile show, quite a few nice cars, including one '67 442 4 spd convertible that was reportedly original and unrestored :eek2: very nice... didn't see the one '67 I was looking for though.

I have a DVD for you courtesy of Nando, so hopefully we'll see you there!

Hi Doug, Harvey, and BOPC owners,

Looking forward to seeing you at the meet. I will begin phoning my contacts, early next week, to remind them of the event. Would you do the same?
It'll be a toss-up, which car I bring, since I'm headed to Vernon right after the meet. Probably, the GN. Manged to locate a stock GM chip to bypass the 124 mph fuel cut-off of the original chip, as well as a higher fuel pressure regulator. Want to keep it all stock, for a time trial at the track.
Keep care and I will phone soon.

    Nando.

Does anyone know how late this meet might go? I'll be in the San Juans this weekend and would love to swing up north to check out some sweet Bufords before heading home! :bglasses:

Because this is casual drop in type meet, cars will be coming and going all day. I would expect things to start to thin out between 3 & 4 or so. If you're going to get there, let us know and we'll stay around long enough to meet you!

ah, that sounds perfect! I realized after I posted that we will prob be leaving the islands pretty early so I should make it up in plenty of time (like 12 or 1). Looking forward to meeting you guys and getting some good BOP pics! :kodak:

That's great Randy... will you be driving one of your Buicks? So far, the weather is forecast to be sunny and hot so it should be a nice turnout. I'm looking forward to it!

Unfortunately not... bringing a bunch of camping gear so I'll be driving a truck. But it's turbo charged if that helps! :Brow:

For those coming to the picnic, access to the park is off of 8th Avenue which is only 1 mile from the border crossing. Follow 8th Avenue east of 200th Street and continue. There should be signs along 8th Avenue directing you along. See you there, the weather is supposed to be fantastic!

I missed everyone too! I caught some kind of a flu bug on Friday and just couldn't make it. My first miss in years. I'll be back next year with my freshly restored 67 GS convert.
    Cheers

    Hey Doug,

Don't forget to pack the cooler with that special Buick Beverage.
Why do I have the feeling there may be more Buick owners, and their cars, at the show, than the host club? Seems to be a positive response, so far, in Buick attendees.
Let's immediately plan for another date in July, August, to get together. If interested, our local club in Squamish, is planning a big show in Squamish, on Sept. 14th. Trev Dealey, will be co-sponsoring the event, so there'll be plenty of great-looking Harleys at the show.

    Take care,

    Nando.

A question for all my Canadian Buick Lovers. I had a white 64 Wildcat Convert, that I had to sell in the late 70`s. I was wondering if it was still around. I sold it to a Barber/stylist in Vancouver when I did the Divorce thing. To pay off the ex
It was White with Red buckets and p/windows, side marker lights, If anyone 425 etc. I still had parts left over, he didnt want them. So I bought the one I have now.
Just curious. I would love to bring my Cat up for a visit. I love BC
I would Appreciate a note if anyone has seen it
I fish alot and usually go to Tahis or up the Island when I get the chance

    Thanks Gary
