My water pump is fastened with the wrong length bolts. Can anyone tell me the size and length of the bolts needed to fasten the water pump onto a 455? Is there anything special about them? Thanks!
I don;t know if you have the right bolts,I can supply you with new ones, with the right length .I guess $8.00 shipped will cover it,as it costs almost $4.00 for shipping. You can also buy them from Todd Miller,he's on this site and sells most sizes bolts for almost all that's needed for a Buick.Bruno.
I've heard of folks using "stainless steel" bolts, but beware the horrible strength rating of popular stainless hardware. It's about equal to Grade 2 hardware store junk bolts. ARP sells high-strength stainless bolts, and you can with some searching come up with stuff that's "almost" equivalent to Grade 5.
I carry Grade 8 Bolts for the water pump and timing cover. The Long 4" + Timing Cover bolts are not reproduced at this time but I do stock the ARP Flange Bolts (In Black) to match the rest of my bolts. I see these as a kit or individually.
