Everything is fine Steve. Jr. is in North Carolina. He doesn't get to race the car as often as he likes. I think Sr. decided to sell the car to someone to enjoy.
Well I can explain what happeneed to the engine. On the last run at the GS Nationals,we had 3 runs and the first run she went 9.11 and 146 mph with a 1.31 short time.second run she went 9.06 and 147 mph with a short time of 130,on the 3 run she ran 9.03 and 147 mph.short time was 129.All these runs not a peep from the engine, the problem is that we had droplets of water into the valve covers, enough water to worry my son, otherwise there's nothing wrong with the moving parts of the engine. If I was younger,I would take the engine apart and start like a new put together. The sh0rt block only has about 10 runs on it.Just have to find why there;'s water into the valve covers. This a simple old time engine making a lot of horsepower with the right parts put in.Bruno.
Thanks for the explanation Bruno. Sounds like a good idea to just pull it down and keep an eye out for the issue. Good luck with the sale!!! That's a good price in today's market!
If I had the coin, I would be throwing money like sailor on shore leave. To have the legacy, and a very Badass Buick. I would be scrounging beer cans from the side of the road for entry fees. I have always loved this car, being I am a dyed in the wool 64-65 A-body Buickaholic. Good luck on the sale, Bruno, and thanks for the memories of running that beast.
I have my own race cars as you know but I am curious as to what those bullett mufflers are? I am about to have my wife racing a car and she would like me to tone it down a bit.
Bruno, do you use straight water or an antifreeze/water mix to cool the engine? Are you missing a lot in the radiator? Any changes made to the crankcase ventilation system lately? I see you are using header evacuation. Maybe the water is just condensation?
Bob,We use water wetter for it.Mike those are not mufflers, they clear pipes,as the headers work better with those extensions.GSX455,let ask my son about what he thinks about it,but I lean about to sell anything and everything,Thanks to all you guy's for the good wishes. Bruno.
Hey Glen, we haven’t sold it. To be quite honest we really haven’t paid to much attention to selling it. But it is still for sale if you are interested or know someone who is you can private message me and I can answer any questions you might have.
