Hey, Happy new year! Had my engine out for a long time (broken nylon teethes on the timing gear) and now saw that one Piston is broken between the Piston rings. Surface of Piston wall look like the others. Does somebody know where I got one of the old 4.1875 Piston from the 430 cui engine can also one used one with shipping to Germany. Sebastian
I don't know about a single one, but you can buy a set of 8 on ebay (a little pricey): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-430-...706885&hash=item33f1108a12:g:ZDYAAOSwn0xfa7pC
Are you looking for just a stock 430 piston????? If so I think I have a few.....ill double check, but no clue what shipping would be
You do have “The Cannibal” a Buick parts person, in The Netherlands. https://www.buick-riviera.com/RickBax.html
You'd better be looking REAL CLOSE at the other seven pistons. If one was run hard enough to break...the other seven were seeing the same conditions. Good time to upgrade to pistons with proper compression height. More compression...less detonation. More power, better economy, lighter piston weight. You'd want to have the engine balanced. I suppose that leads to complete rebuild, aluminum heads, different cam, and aftermarket fuel injection "while you're in there anyway".
Absolutely! Overdrive trans, and a 4.88 rear gear too. I agree, cant have all that Buick power unless its wrapped in a shiny new body and interior. I'd also build a proper 8 car poll barn for proper storage Oh, heated concrete floor, plenty of LED lighting, and a lift, a fridge for beer, and a bathroom so you can pee out the beer without going outside or in the house all greasy which will probably lead to divorce and you'll loose everything
Hey, It's me again Checked all other pistons and they looked good for me. Only no 3 is broken. Didn't find a used original std Piston (checked also cannibal in Netherlands) but I buyed a set of used after market pistons (Silvolite 1728) which was not the best idea. The top surface looked bad. Costs for machining and new pistons is to high here in Germany. Is it possible to use only one Silvolite Piston and leave the other 7 original ones? I weight both and there is a difference about 10 grams (0,35 ounze) @bens will contact you soon
