Friends, I failed to follow directions and broke off a few of the throttle shaft screw heads when prepping for a bushing install.

Any recommendations/tips on getting them removed? I have the tools and larger replacement screws to thread the holes, but I can’t get the damn screws out!
    Thanks folks!

    Are they all flush?

Yes, the remaining screws with broken heads are flush.
I bought the same size screws (size 3-48) at 3/4 inch to use the existing screw holes to drill the throttle shaft onto a block of wood to stabilize it. Once solid, I am going to drill through the existing, broken/stuck screw.
I bought the oversized throttle plate screws and threading tap to re-thread the drill hole if needed...which I image is highly likely.

Try using a left hand drill when drilling out the broken screws. Also heat the shaft a bit to loosen the thread as much as possible and to beak loose any thread locker that might be on the screws. With luck, the left hand drill will back the screws out while drilling, or at least loosen them up.

Well...That did not work. Looks like I may be buying new shafts.

Great advice. I will try this on the secondary throttle shaft as the first one is now quite bent from user error.

    ARG!

Curious - How were you told to remove them in the first place?

Reading through the chassis manual and the quadrajetparts.com carb rebuild kit instructions.

I now know that the bolts are factory staked (or otherwise secured) and one should not attempt to remove them without grinding down the backs.

Now I need to find a secondary throttle shaft since I bent the original.
