    Another while its down issue..

Since I have the hydraulic system apart, I figure I would fix the brake switch on the distribution valve and get the brake light warning light working. The metal nipple was broken off. This is what I removed-

From using an inspection mirror and a flashlight I csn see another piece of white plastic in there with a little tit on it. Not sure if thats part of the block or the switch though. Does anyone have a spare block they can take the switch out of to show me what it's supposed to look like in there?

Second issue- Am I crazy or shouldn't the brake light on the dash come on when I ground the wire? Key on, wire grounded, no brake light. The E brake lights the light, so that's working....

    Any help is appreciated

This is what the '72 version looks like inside.

The switch on the combination value is a brake failure indicator and would not normally cause the light to activate.

If either front or rear loses pressure the little horizontal bobbin gets pushed to the opposite side to the leak and the plunger rides up out of the groove and activates the switch.
