I have bead blasted, de-rusted and painted my front calipers.
Pistons are fine and bore cleaned out nice as well. So far so good...have done it many times on japanese cars.

I ordered the pictured rebuilt kit...thought it's nice to have an ACDelco part but you can all see the "made in china"...I am very disappointed...

The rubber ring fits nicely but the dust boot is a defferent story. Check out the pics. It looks very "short".
And I had to pry out the old one. the new one I am able to push on the caliper by hand. I expected it to be much tighter and somewhat like a press fit.

Buying rebuilt calipers is no option. I can do it myself (with the right parts), I save an original part and shipping overseas would be horrendous.

Has anyone used this kit before? Or can anyone recommend a "made in USA" brand?

    Thanks

Found it out. The dust boot needs to go on the other way.
I did use a press and matching tool to get it seated on the calipers. Works good now. ...still made in china :(

I am almost ready to rebuild my calipers. The dust boot can only be installed one way like showned in your initial photo of your caliper?

    Hey George,

No, all my photos show the dust boot in the wrong position. You technically can assembly it the wrong way. But the boot will fall out or hinder the pistons movement. that's why I initially thought the part is wrong.
I took the piston out and turned the boot upside down. This way it has to be punched into the caliper. I used a tool I found at out workshop that fits perfectly. Took a bit of force to seat it. I think you'd damage it with a punch or something.

I will take pictures tomorrow when I do the second caliper.

There is -- N O -- current manufacturer of Caliper Kits and Caliper pistons --- Made in U.S.A....
The only Made in U.S.A. option for these parts are old school parts stores who still have them on the shelf.....

I just provided some, amazingly for a 1969 Chevelle !!!!

    Always best to simply call me --- Craig --- 516 - 485 - 1935...

You can find this tool at any Volkswagen or Audi Dealer as it is must have standard equipment for them.
