Just another option for everyone: I just had Harmon Classic Brakes rebuild the booster on my '63 T-Bird. It's not plated (painted black from the factory apparently), but it works fine. Apparently, my booster had an incorrect part (a plunger, I think), and the rebuilder called and told me it would take a little longer because they were going to have a part machined. Their turnaround time is 2-3 weeks, and I think mine was a few days longer than that due to the new part. I'm happy with them, so I'll give them a shout out here. https://harmonclassicbrakes.com/
I've ALSO used Harmon Classic Brakes for the booster rebuild on my '62 T-Bird. Haven't gotten it back yet but hopefully soon. This will be the 4th. since 1970. As a note they have come in at the least costly than most others & Georgia is closer to Ct. than others so the shipping is less costly. Tom T.
I'll second brakeboosters.com ...Mike did an outstanding job on the booster and master I sent him. He did polish out some pits. Also re-scribed the Delco Moraine stamping to make it legible again after polishing. The stamping has a tendency to disappear if polished.
As I said only mild imperfections can be ground out. You could ask them to find a better front side. It will not be your exact date but might find one close.
I looked at Harmon Classic Brakes site and I did not see anything about replating the housings. Maybe just painting them???
You might want to try giving them a call; they were good about answering the phone the couple of times I called them.
