This Saturday the 12th is the annual Fall Fest for BOP. Speedworld Dragstrip outside of Phoenix. My car won't be back together due to this extended outage at work, but I will make it out there to watch. Anyone else going.....?
I would like to thank those who attended. Also, thanks to Craig for the site help. Will be posting pics. Let's plan for next year- Nov, 2012. exact date to be announced If anyone has suggestions or would like to contact me concerning this event, please do- Steve 480-899-7873 steve@pontiacheaven.org
Steve, once again, thanks for putting that race on :TU: Even with the questionable weather, seeing 48 cars out there racing was fun! Pontiac's seem to once again make up the majority of the cars, and I think Steve Curry and his gang of Olds guys had about 10 cars in our pit area, including 2 who towed in from San Diego for the event (9 second and 11 second small block cars!). The GS's were represented by the TA clan and their GSX, Dave Johnson had his GSX running deep into the 11's, I can never remember the guy with the bronze 71 GS who shows every year. My car was still at home with the heads off (back on now) Mike Modena showed up with his daughter and an old 61(?) big car, don't recall the make! He needs to get a motor in his GS. I have some pic's to post and some video I shot. Hopefully next year we can shake a few more cars out of the woodwork. You go to the Pavillions on BOP Day and there's 20-30 GS's, we just have to get them out of their lawn chairs and out to the track, at least for the car show Also looking forward to the April Musclecar Heaven event!
I had a great time at the PBO Fallfest! Where else can you go and hang out exclusively with your Olds and Pontiac cousins? We need to support these events so we can continue to have them in the future. Bring your lawn chairs and park your trailer queens in the show car area. If you're feeling frisky, take the show queen down the quarter mile. Seriously, you guys need to show up. We get a good vibe going at these events and it's a lot of fun. Steve Curry Olds guy
There is ALWAYS something wrong with my car. I'm thinking it's possessed. It overheated in August, The header are always blowing gaskets. I pulled the headers out to get them "flat" again. I still haven't put them in. And it is looking like I'm going to miss the west coast Buick deal too. :ball:

I am happy to announce that the FALL FEST for 2012 will be held Saturday , November 4. We will probably have a Fri night test and tune available. You can stay overnight Fri and/or sat for no extra fees. This wayif you are from out of town, you can stay over Sat night and drive home on Sunday. Unless people want something different, I will probably have the same format as this year. If anyone has ideas to share, please do so. Wishing everyone well. My next event of possible interest is the 10th annual Nostalgic Show & GO! on Sunday April 1. Welcoming all brands 1981 and older to 'fight it out' for a fun day. take care, Steve
That's good news Steve! Hoping to have another car together for the April race. Tired of messing with the street car
