I'll be there with my red 70 Skylark. Its got a lack vynil top, Weld Rodlite wheels and should be running 12.50's.
Anyone know if there is an RV park close by the Bremerton track that will accomodate a motorhome pulling a trailer? Or a Walmart parking lot for that matter. Don't imagine they'll let you stay at the track for a one day event. Thanks. Tom
Tom, I think that you may be able to stay at the track, but give them a call. Track Phone Number: (360) 674-2280 They would also probably let you leave your trailer and car at the track (if you'd want to do it) and you could stay outside the track. Their website is www.bremertonraceway.com too.
Thanks Steve. I e-mailed them as there was no answer on the phone. I have been monitering the weather and it looks like the rain will stop for the friday and Saturday and resume Sunday. Hope thats the case. I 've pretty much decided to come as long as there is no change in the forcast by thursday morning. Hope to see you there. I notice you are very prompt at answering this thread. Thanks again. Tom Hearsey
Tom, You may also want to consider calling one of the other numbers listed on their page. It isn't a full-time track, with constant staffing. They run out of an area off the Bremerton Airport, with a lot of portable equipment that they close up at the end of the season. They're around on the weekends when they race, but I don't know how often they're available, at the track, midweek. Email may get you the results in time too. I hope to be there piloting a Buick. I'll know more by Friday. I stayed home from work today - only time the washing machine repairman could get out was between 11:00a - 2:00p. He was actually here at 11:15 and out of here 15 minutes later! So instead of going back to work, it's time to clean the garage so I can get my truck back in there.
Bop It was cool to finally meet all you guys down south. Its too bad Jerry couldn't make it out, was hoping to visit with him.I am really happy that my good bud Tom and Linda made it all the way from Alberta. It was my birthday this weekend and I don't mind telling you that it was the best birthday one could ever wish for Thanks to some very special people, Adam,Tom,Steve and Jamie I had the time of my life. We started are trip by taking a ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles drove down to Bremerton BOP raced there on Saturday,Adam and I Qualified 1 & 2 fastest, Tom did his best time ever and I went to the final 4.We then drove back up in to Canada (Mission Race way) that night and raced on sunday there. Two tracks on one weekend WOW how cool is that.Bremerton was awesome, traction was deadly and people were very very nice,it left a very big impression on all of us we will be back! Chris
It was sure nice to see a couple of Buicks do some wheel stands too! I haven't seen that in person. Some pretty impressive cars you guys have there up north, eh?
That was a good one Steve "you couldn't find your way to the track you could at least find your way to the thread." Anyway its too bad if for any one that wasn't bable to attend because it was a very good event. Hats off to you guys south of the border you made us Canucks feel right at home. Great track, Great air, great traction. It was a real pleasure to meet you Steve and Rick, and the many others that were so neighborly. Sorry if I've forgotten names. Our entourage consisted of Chris,(Blue 70' wheel standing 10 sec car, Adam, (Red 69' Wheel standing 10 sec car) and Steve and Jamie their pit crew and comic relief. I brought the Green 71' GS. Couldn't pull the front wheels but did manage to get the best time slip ever. 11.58@ 115.77mph. Fantastic time to be had by all. The adrenaline rush was almost as great there as winding ones way with 60 feet of motorhome and car trailer through the city of Seattle. Holy man that is some racetrack of a turnpike you have there. It was fun to do another race with my buds from The Island. They are not only good racers but good engine builders, actually Car Carfters as well. Great weekend, I thank you all. Tom
