Anybody lucked out and found a good source for a boot well molding a/k/a pinchweld molding for a 70 rag top resto? OPGI has basically taken a huge, hairy fecal dump on their customers who ordered their supposedly all-world repro of this part that was to be ready to ship May 1. I was told today that they did not expect the part to be ready before "the end of the year." :moonu:

Does anybody know where a fool can get this freakin chrome piece?

It is stainless steel. Do you have core or are you looking fresh? They are not hard to find used but many need to be refinished.

Like Jim said--post a "Parts Wanted" ad and periodically renew it. Remember, it's generic so a Tempest, Cutlass, or Chevelle set up will also work...thus post on other sites as well.

Been a few convertibles parted out on here in the last few months. If you are persistent you will find one.

Don't worry...a refinished real one would have been likely better than the repro part had it been made available...nothing better than real GM stuff, even used Real GM Stuff.

I had run into the problem at least 2 years ago or longer with them, I like their stuff, but come on.

Yes they are generic, but it will also depend on the window trim. My car is a little older, so I'm not sure if that problem will actually be a problem, but for the older cars it there were multiple ones, a bead, and a wide strip.
