I've found 2 boot strips (top boot slide rail) One is 33in the other is 35 1/2.

Which is correct for 71 GS conv?

Or neither? Can someone please measure one in an original car? THANKS

I see some for sale that are 43in.....

33" is the correct one. Just measured an original one I pulled from a '72 Cutlass convert well over 30 years ago so it should be the same.

I have two and they are different lengths, also.

Love to know actual on an original car.....
Parts Place and Year One seem to indicate 43in

Bruce, The one that came out of my '70 Flint car is 33". I don't know the origin of the other.

'71 Parts book says '68-71 Retainer 4868822 gr.13.384. Maybe someone with a '72 or later book can see if the pt number changed in '72 . At least we know that the shorter one is correct for '71. Also, the screw holes can be your guide.

Matt: My 71 doesn't have screw holes in the body for the 2 end ones on the 33in rail but looking at the rail I can see they were used in whatever it came out of.
    Pretty weird....

Anyone know what the 30" would be for? 61-63? 64-65?

I'm thinking the 43" is for LeSabre and up size cars but can be cut to length for all so that's why the aftermarket sells only 43 from what I have found.
