Blow through carb or FiTech Efi for a Turbo setup

As Jay said you can use it with an electric pump, it's just not ideal to have the pump sucking the fuel instead of pushing it. It will work but the pump life may not be as long I would suspect. Jay had the A-1000 pump as he said and it seemed to work fine for his twin turbo 350.

Old pic of his car, notice the water/meth injection and simple plumbing:

I see... Its convinient to keep the stock tank like that..
Jay can you comment on that question? And where did you mount the e pump?

If you can do a carb for free then try a blow through carb. If you have to spend more than a dollar on it you have wasted your money. I had a top notch blow through carb and fuel system. Pulled it all and sold it (kept the fuel lines.) Just got so tired of chasing the tune. Would be ok for race car but trying to get good all around performance with a blow though carb setup is a pain in the ass.

Had the Fitech on all last year and it is night and day difference. It just flat out drives better. Starts, idles, does not foul plugs, has so much better throttle response and mid range. Don't have to worry about washing down the cylinder walls. Garage does not stink after you start it. Never having to bend over the fenders and dump gas all over your hands to change something on the carb.

In the long run you will save money by just going to Fitech and skipping the misery of a blow through carb.

Yep.. It's just a fuel pump. It really doesn't "suck" the fuel. Once the siphon process starts it's no different than having a sump as far as the pump is concerned. I installed my pump on the outside of the frame rail in front of the right rear tire. As far as I know it's still working in hot ass Arizona.

I am using an A1000 fuel pump and Robb MC pickup with my stock tank currently. I mounted mine on the frame rail in the same location as Jay. Been running that way for 4 years now without a single issue. Using a mallory boost reference fuel regulator on the passenger fender. -8AN supply and return lines.

I did some more research and these guys are right it is fine to mount the pump as Jay and Brennan have done... So I stand corrected.

Can you take a pic of your fuel pump mounting location please?!

Further do you use rob mc s pickup wth 8 AN lines?
I assume the stock fuel lines dont work with my planned setup so i thought about 8AN lines all the way to the motor routed in the frame right or left...what you think

I am using a Robb MC pickup with -8an lines for supply and return in the stock tank with my A1000 pump. I have a 100 micron filter between the pickup and pump. I am currently converting to the FiTech setup and am using a Tanks Inc EFI tank with an intank pump. It uses -6an lines which is enough to feed my setup. I am using the power adder system up to 600 hp.

Here are some pics of how I currently have things plumbed...

I ran the fuel lines between the body and the frame and came up through the passenger fender by where the battery normally is to the fuel pressure regulator. I never had any issues with the fuel setup this way. Fuel pump is somewhat load, but when the car was running, it wasn't that noticeable inside. When I run the new lines I am going to go through the frame rails and come by my ac bulkhead and directly to the FiTech internal fuel pressure regulator. The return line will be run the same way. There is nothing wrong with the current fuel setup, but feel it is overkill for my needs. Also I will use the FiTech to control the fuel pump and FiTech tech support told me that an external fuel pressure regulator would be needed prior to FiTech. The A1000 would put to much pressure to the FiTech.

    New stuff....

I'll be updating my build page once I start this install. Should be on the road in Feb.

    Awesome.
Please update us im planing on FiTech as well i want to use A1000 and a bypass regulator so i assume to oem tank with the robbmc pickup would work?
Otherwise i go with a fuelcell i think

Since you already have the A1000 you can make that work with the Fitech. It is overkill for your goals but should work fine. The robbmc pickup is a quality item. Then all you need are lines and regulator. If it was me I would set it up with a fuel pressure gauge on one of the unused return ports on the Fitech. Then just adjust the regulator to 58 psi and you are set to go.

I think to use the pwm the fitech has to speed the fuelpump you have to use a ssr. ( solid state relay) to connect them.. Otherwise the amp of the pump it to high..

That is correct. Also have to have a pump designed for pwm. This is where you find the most people doing blow through with a Fitech: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1138882606178838/
