    Hello all,

I have a 1968 Buick Skylark Custom convertible. I was wondering how to bleed the convertible top system and restore the fluids. I had to disconnect the lines from the rams on each side in order to manually put the top up which caused fluid to run everywhere. I still could not figure out which wire from the engine compartment is needed to get power to the top. Any help is appreciated.

    Regards,

    Eric

LowFlyLark Time for a mild custom.

I don't know about the 68 wires but if you have a switch you can power it from the back of the switch or (as I did) power it from the pump itself. I unplugged the pump and used my battery charger to power the pump through several cycles. If the pump is low on fluid it will pump more air bubbles. Fill the reservoir with fluid (do your research on fluid, I used trans fluid). Run the pump through several cycles and eventually it will pass most all the air. If you overfill it, it will burp out. Clean it all up and you should be good. My car has a few bubble in the lines but it works great. You may be able to bleed it all out like bleeding brakes but I don't think it is necessary.
