Sean, no need to build. It's been awhile since I've done a truck conversion but, I seem to recall using big car mounts and 4 of the 6 holes are already drilled in the truck frame from the factory. Also 8.5:1, 268 comp cam, shorty TA headers, b4b intake make a great combo, mine use to get 17 mpg on the HWY with TH400 and 3.08 gears in my heavy half. I also did a 3/4 PU for a guy, 70 455 on propane, TH400, 3.42 gears because it had 16" tires, the truck owner felt his mileage almost doubled after we disposed the sbc and the the 4.10 gears......... I've got a '78 F150 XLT that came with a 400M/C6. It now has a 462 BBB with SP1, 1000HP, TA 226/235 cam with a 2004R trans with a lockup converter. The truck has been in my family since new.

 you'ns!!... he said you'ns!!

I gotta start a new thread about you'ns.

My Aunt near Newberrytown, PA says that. Do you pronounce it "you-ins" too? Or is it yoooons?

She's a Steelers fan too... there must be a specific Steelers dialect of the English language.

The block in my JAGUICK came out of an alcohol injected tractor puller from Wisconsin. The thing apparently dominated the competetion until the owner decided to change classes where alot more cubic inches were needed. Like 572 BBCs.

I originally built the 455 BBB currently in my '64 lark for a '67 Jeep J2000 truck I had. You want torque, I did a 4 wheel burnout on a dare roasting all 4 33" tires and later found that it twisted the front drive shaft in the process. As far as pulling, my only limitations were traction and the distance between gas stations.
