I had an issue with a brand new set of Speed Pro main bearings (157M) (3/4 groove) where the oil holes did not align with the block holes. They were not just a little bit off. And in fact, the supplier had multiple sets that were made wrong. I know most will check these during assembly, but beware.

    Scott,

    Wow, that's scary..

With that hard bearing, it's a must to surface harden the crankshaft, via the nitride process. Problem is those bearings will not embed any debris, even the fine material you get from normal breakin... it just suspends the material between the bearing and the crank, and that will eat up the soft stock cast crank.

    Been there, done that.
