A car hauler picked up a car from me last week and used B H trailer tie downs that wrapped around the tire and connected to the trailer bed with chains-- similar to the way a roll back locks the rear axle on the bed. Anyone know who sells these. I googled them but came up with no real lead. Thanks for any information . John
Like a tie-back strap. These go through the wheel and then secure to a d-ring. This one does not have a ratchet but the same company does offer one with a ratchet. I just hook these through the front wheels leave it in neutral and ratchet down the back.
No these wrapped around the tire and wheel -- like you get with a U Haul rental trailer. However the ends were chains that fitted into a slot that was cut into the trailer bed near the frame outside. You ratchet them tight over the wheel. The reason I liked them is I am old as dirt and Arthy is bad and you can tie the car down with out crawling under or hardly bending over. I need a set bad. ray:
I see why you would want them, even I don't like bending under a car even if the trailer is dry. Would any of these work? If not I'll ask the manufacturer I get them at through work and see what they have. Sound good?o No:
They are the basic type that I am looking for. The B H ones had about 8 inches of heavy duty chain on each end. The end link of chain slipped into a drilled and sloted hole in the frame of the trailer. The ratchet was then used to snug the tie down.
