Good evening, I am going to install a t56 magnum in my 455 powered 68 skylark, I am tying to decided on which clutch/bell housing/etc is appropriate for my car. If anyone has input on the following it would be appreciated.

1)QuickTime vs McLoud bell housing preferences?( I assume the quicktime is superior as it allows the mechanical clutch option)

    2) Mechanical vs hydraulic clutch? Am I likely to have interference issues with my hooker 2" headers and a mechanical linkage? Which will be a simpler install?

    3) Any recommendations for specific masters cylinders, hdr t/o bearings etc?

    4) As I am converting an automatic car, where's the best place to get pedals and a mechanical linkage should I decide to got that way.

    thanks.

I installed a T-56 in my 67 GS about 5-6 years ago. I just used my 455 aluminum bellhousing and switched to a hydraulic clutch. I did have to open up my tunnel to fit the trans in. I do love having the extra gears it is well worth it.

thanks, I assume you used one of the adapter plates that mate t56's to gm belhousings? I am interested in your clutch setup, specifically what components did you use and what modifications were made to mount the master cylinder? Thanks again.

just ordered a T56 magnum and QuickTime belhousing with pivot ball, I'll decide on hydraulic or manual clutch later.
