If anyone knows of a clean example 2000 - 2005. around 100K miles (less is better) Looking to spend in the neighborhood of 5K. Over the years we've had 3 of these and they all have been pretty dependable and capable vehicles. It'd be nice to have a back up that can tow and haul stuff when my F250 is unavailable or broken as it is now. + as a bonus it would keep the wife out of my truck! have seen some at dealerships that are WAY over priced and some private sellers that are asking realistic price but the van is trashed. Was about to buy airfare to go after one last week that was out west and the seller decided he'd rather sell local than have me fly in to pick it up. ya I dont know, maybe a blessing in disguise. Anyway, let me know.

I used to rock one of those! I carried a 450 Kodiak ATV in the back, was awesome!

Yup, that was the end of the line so to speak for the old Baltimore assembly plant.

I always liked those vans, had several friends that had them. One guy had an AWD Safari.

Of the 3 we owned, The first was a white 85 with a red cloth int. Low millage. Was a trade in at one of those dealer road side tent sales. Traded my old beat mold smelling 73 cargo van and 2500$ probably around 94. Wife liked it so much I couldnt keep her out of it. Bought a blue 90 for her to drive. Yr later we had a tropical storm roll through and she had to go driving around in the flooded areas sightseeing. Ended up filling the engine with salt water. Ins paid for a new engine but the truck was never the same. Traded that in on a very clean 98 at the chevy dealer. Drove that one to over 220K until she got the itch for something else. Sold it local and later saw it totaled in someone's yard about a month later.

That looks a lot like the second one we had.

Question, since these Astros & Safaris came with the 4.3 Vortec .... and, as I understand, a 350 is pretty close to a bolt-in affair with the other S-10 & S-15 pickups and SUVs, how hard would it be to put a 350 in one of these? Electric cooling fans can provide some extra forward room for the extra two cylinders. Anyone have any experience?
