Anyone See These Global West Bump-Steer Arms?

    Has anyone tried a set of these? I'm thinking of ordering a set for one or both of my cars.

    I saw these on an FB post about a guy with issues on the big end of the drag strip but they caught my eye for two reasons:
    1. Bolt-on bump steer correction
    2. Shorter distance from bolt holes to the tie rod ends to quicken steering

    I've always thought a shorter steering arm with an altered angle would solve the bump steer and steering ratio issues with minimal other hacking about but I've never had the nerve to heat a set and see if I could bend them.

    I have them on my car, put them on 2 years ago.......only have maybe 30 short track passes and 5 full track passes......my car is very stable on top end.......I noticed alot less needing to steer on launch after the wheels come back down

    I would be interested to hear some more feedback. With my ridetech control arms, I had to heavily alter my bump stops to get full steering radius.

    There is a slight total length difference.......I have bolts through both arms in this pic.

    Mine bolted right in place no issue......it is thicker than the stk arm so the tie rod nut doesn't go down as far.......I used a nylon locking nut.

    I haven't notice any different turning radius but I only race mine not street drive

    How do these compare to stock arms? Are the bump stops a lot thicker than stock? If they aren't thicker or placed differently, I don't know how that would change steering radius. I'd be interested in seeing a side by side comparison to stock like Ben99gtp shows below from both ends, bump stop and tie rod end.

    That certainly suggests they are shorter. That would improve the ratio. A mechanical 12.7:1 box would turn even quicker with those arms. Can you tell me what your turns lock to lock are? Is it manual or power?

    Mine is manual, I can't answer lock to lock right now, car is loaded up in the trailer at work and stuck in house lock down till what us now the 19th after my wife getting covid-19. They extended my recommend time from the 14th to 19th since I had so much close contact with her b4 she had to go to the hospital from it

    My box i believe is just a standard manual box.......I didn't hunt out anything super special when I installed it......I have no real issues turning......slightly more effort in the pits, but its been thst way ever since swapping from power box,

    Mine are the stock arms, that I took a grinder too. My issue stems from the after market control arms I am running. Other members have used Ridetech control arms and have run into similar problems, but Ridetech claims there should be no issues. Essentially, I lost 75% of my turning radius because the stock style bump stop contacts my lower control arms 3/4 of a turn in. So I modified the stock arms and removed about half of the material on the bump stop. I’m up to 2 1/4 turns lock to lock, but think I’m going to take off more over the winter. My build thread outlines the issue in more detail, starting around page 2-3.

    With all the upgrades it’s hard tell what improvement each component contributed. I will say bumpsteer is a lot better.

    Bump steer can be easily measured on a good alignment rack.

    Global west showed it on a video the before and after toe change with these arms.......very drastic

    Whoops, I didn’t watch the video first. I’d want to measure bump steer before making any changes. Interesting for sure.

    I can say on my car I longer need to input a little wheel into it off the light..........b4 almost every launch did need just a slight input and the car would drift a little side to side with the input.....now that is almost gone

    Nice. Too bad they didn’t run their sweep more than +/- 2”. You don’t need to take the springs out. You can cinch the front end down. Loosen your shock compression setting, and pull it down.

    I would had like to seen more travel as well.....but compared to b4 and after tere was a big change.....my travel is much more than they show in the film too and wondered the same thing about more sweep......I would assume it would still have more tie change, but not as drastic as with the factory arms
