Anyone pay attention to the Paris to Dakar?

    The hardest race. I used to watch it when you could get some high lights on satellite TV. The big trucks are pretty flippin' amazing.

    I used to watch the original race in the late 70's from Paris, France to Dakar in Africa.
    Later on they used places like Gibraltar (UK/Spain) and Lisbon, Portugal to start the race.

    In 2009 they moved the event to South America and since 2020 it's based in Saudi-Arabia.

    I liked it when Jan de Rooy was competing in the race with his twin-cab truck and later on in The Bull:

    I have tried to watch it, but the TV coverage here in SW Florida is so disjointed that it is impossible to follow, so I have decided that it isn't worth the effort.
