Just checking site to see how many Buick code 49 exist and how many are still the same color. If yes please post pictures. Not 1970 that is code 48 and is Sherwood green.

My 71 Stage 1 was code 49 Verdemist Green. It is still around, unfortunately the guy I sold it to painted it black...:( It is in the Stage 1 Registry.

Wow! I guess that was not a very popular color in the day. Posted two months ago and only one post of one known, and that one is now painted black.

    This one still exist!

My 71 is verdemist. Just had my hood painted, that paint is translucent...13 coats of base, sprayed 20-30 min. apart. Actually seems to have some reddish/orange/burnt umber in the mix too. Cool color if your into green. Will try to get you some pics...

1971 Riviera code 49 Verdemist Green sales code M
1,696 units 5.02% of production about middle of the road as far colour numbers go.

original paint was Acrylic lacquer (single stage polyurethane is as close as you can get in most places today) - not base clear - was fairly translucent and four final colour coats were applied over to 2 coats of base sealer colours and primers below that.

Did we ever get definitive proof of that cars pedigree? I remember a thread about it.

Here is my '71 in verdemist. The car was re painted some time ago and the previous owner said the shade is not totally correct.
