That’s interesting… I guess to reinforce it and keep it from flapping in the wind? I’d think in this case a standard gasket would be a better idea.

Now you guys have me curious.
When I built my engine I purchased a new TA cover and high flow pump. Never felt it made any difference and ran extremely hot.

While doing other mods I bought the Flowcooler pump and am in the process of swapping it in. Just got everything cleaned up yesterday.

Will spend some time checking it all out.

Just looked at my T/A cover and high flow pump. There was no gasket in the area of that wall. So though only gasket thickness was still open.

The Flowkooler gasket looks to be the stock style with no ridge piece. Also the Flowkooler pump doesn’t have that matching ridge.

I am going to use the new pump and the gasket supplied and will let everyone know what I find out. 45D55F95-1089-4ACE-AE1E-EEA272C6DC6F.jpeg D4FDF396-1FCF-44F5-B54C-23F33AD484B6.jpeg 09497E12-F26C-497B-9170-A82168362558.jpeg

    It typically takes awhile.
