The home office for Toyota (where the money eventually goes) is in Aichi, Japan. These indexes usually don’t include company overhead and infrastructure as part of the vehicle. They should include everything. Maybe it would not change the results but any study can be designed to get the desired outcome by simply changing the criteria included. Still, it’s nice some are at least assembled here and in Canada.
The Canadian and US economies are so intertwined that it really doesn't make any significant difference whether a vehicle is assembled in Windsor or Detroit. There is a pile of parts moving across the river either way.
